My life's calling is to nurture and amplify the voices of the unheard, undervalued, and overlooked. I specialize in sharing educational tools to help organizations and individuals (specifically people with historically marginalized identities) prioritize their mental and holistic wellness as a means of resistance to harmful white supremacist structures. Whether it’s personal/professional development or corporate strategic planning, I am an expert at equipping leaders to build culturally affirming and inclusive organizations. Tekita Bankhead, MS, BSN, RN, is a nationally recognized leader in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategy with over ten years of professional experience. She is an accomplished scholar-practitioner and consultant with a unique combination of expertise from the fields of higher education, nursing, mental health, and creative writing. Tekita is a dynamic speaker and facilitator who delivers innovative and interactive educational workshops designed to tackle the complexities of inclusive excellence, anti-racism, holistic wellness, and cultural humility.
Tekita is a passionate and vocal proponent for the collective empowerment of all Black women and works tirelessly to mitigate the harmful impacts of misogynoir in their personal and professional lives. She is the Creator and Editor-In-Chief of The Pedestal ProjectⓇ, a nationally recognized online space and organization dedicated to uplifting Black women through storytelling. In 2018, Tekita was named to the Top 40 under 40 Professionals List by Central Illinois Business Magazine for her expansive advocacy work and tireless commitment to eliminating barriers to wellness for historically marginalized communities.
Tekita hails from the "Friendly City" of Columbus, MS and holds a Master of Science in Counselor Education with an Emphasis in Student Affairs Administration from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mississippi University for Women. She Is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and enjoys mentoring new professionals. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, cuddling with her dog and spending time with family and friends.

training & development workshops
In-person workshop packages must be confirmed at a minimum of three weeks before the desired date of the engagement. Virtual workshops must be confirmed at a minimum of two weeks before the desired date of the engagement. All inquiries are confirmed based on availability and by the order of receipt.
Workshops include:
- Minimum of 60 minutes of customized instructional content for selected signature topic
- One-on-one client meetings
- Client's choice of summative deliverable(s)
